A year-long creative sanctuary for visual storytellers who are ready to commit to their craft
In this intimate year-long journey, you’ll immerse yourself in the art and craft of graphic narrative alongside a dedicated community of fellow visual storytellers. This course is designed to inspire you month after month; to give you sustained momentum and a solid sense of community; to sharpen your knowledge of the genre through reading and discussion; to untangle any snags you might encounter regarding content, form, and technicalities; and to help empower you to bring your short comic or longform work out into the world, where it can do some good!
You’ll . . .
- Dive deep into the graphic narrative form through monthly book discussions—reading and analyzing powerful graphic novels together
- Build lasting connections with fellow creators in an intimate, supportive community
- Develop and refine your own graphic narrative project with consistent feedback and encouragement
- Explore new tools, techniques, and approaches to keep your practice fresh and inspired
- Receive personalized guidance through six private one-on-one mentoring sessions with Maureen
Comics Coven includes:
- Two monthly meetings, 90 minutes each:
- First & Third Saturday of the month, 10AM PST (11AM MST, 1PM EST, 7PM Amsterdam)
- The first meeting of each month will be dedicated to discussing a graphic novel (titles TBA)
- The second session will be a combination of discussing your creative practice—what’s working and what’s not, sharing your work in progress, and playful prompts to keep you inspired!
- First & Third Saturday of the month, 10AM PST (11AM MST, 1PM EST, 7PM Amsterdam)
- Six hour-long private mentoring sessions with Maureen over the course of the year
Meets January through November 2026, with the exception of July (summer vacation month)
