Comix Coven is a year-long creative sanctuary for visual storytellers—a small online community for people making comics and graphic narratives who want sustained creative practice, thoughtful craft conversation, project support, and good company across seasons and oceans. We meet twice a month for Book + Craft discussions and Studio Coven sessions, with six private mentoring sessions and occasional bonus workshops included.
Maureen Burdock, PhD, is a graphic novelist, illustrator, teacher, and enthusiastic inhabitant of the places where image, story, memory, and feral imagination meet. She is the author of Queen of Snails: A Graphic Memoir, Sleepless Planet: A Graphic Guide to Healing from Insomnia, and Five Feminist Fables for the Twenty-First Century. Her classes combine close reading, serious comics craft, experimentation, play, and the conviction that creative work grows best when we keep showing up for it—and for one another.
